Chrome OS Flex — Tip #1: Microsoft Outlook

The company I currently work for is using Office 365. Everything related to emails is therefore done using Microsoft Outlook. My first challenge was to find a solution to get Outlook running on my new Chrome OS Flex.

The procedure is super simple :

Progressive Web App

This little icon will allow you to install Outlook’s Progressive Web App (PWA) and run it almost as smoothly as a native application.

  • Click install to install the app:
  • Outlook will instantly become an application in the tray, and if you right click on it (click with two fingers on the track-pad), you will be able to pin it:

That’s it. You are now running Outlook’s PWA on your Chrome OS Flex laptop.
